Role of educators in an era of digital learning.

 Things are looking great. Improvements in technology are making our lives as educators easier and more effective. We have more resources and more powerful resources in hardware and software. We have a larger abundance of platforms to access digital learning. We have a growing amount of expertise in educators and access to AI to enhance what we do each day in our classroom.


Is this the shortest learning artifact ever written. Are we done? Is the battle over?

Well, we still have a job to do. I believe the hinge point still rests on us. Our jobs still matter and we need to stay current on innovations and technological breakthroughs in our modern world. Then we have to leverage that knowledge to focus and motivate our students to learn and persevere.


We have Immersive Learning, AI, E-Learning, Gamified Learning, Video-assisted Learning and they all enhance enable and need a human like us to push or pull all of our students to use and motivate to learn. I am not going to lie; I feel like this is the same path that we have been on for the last 100 years. We have new mediums just like there have always been, it's just that the rate of learning is increasing for us. I don't think it will last forever. I am confident because of Moore's Law.



The raw computing power is where I believe we will see the surge and all-encompassing usefulness of AI.


In the end will have to spend more time teaching and specializing on social skills development. And why is that? Well because even though we have more and more technology driving our lives more and more jobs are service related.


The projections going forward to 2032 show growth in that direction.



In conclusion, I think that we as educators have to stay current with new technology in order to motivate students to use them. Furthermore, we need to remind them that we are all still humans and how to interact with others in an increasingly digital world. Especially since more professions will demand interaction with other humans.
